Pelicans Trade Anthony Davis To The Lakers!
Updated: Aug 5, 2019
The Los Angeles Lakers have swung for the fences!! As first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski this evening.
The haul David Griffin got for one of the very best talents in the league is enormous.
The Woj Bomb set off details how the Lakers sent Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and THREE 1st rounders to New Orleans in exchange for Davis. The long-awaited trade has finally come to fruition and Twitter was lit on fire by the news.
Lebron is one of the best players in NBA history (one who I think is the best of all time) and now he gets to play with one of the few players in the Association that is in his caliber of player.
For his career, AD has averaged 23.7 points on 51% shooting, 10.5 boards, 2.4 blocks and 1.4 steals. The star has only gotten brighter and brighter, which hastened his desire to maximize his prime years competing for a championship. Davis’ demands to go to LA caused enough friction in Hollywood that it seemed to affect on-court performance. But now it’s all over. The King and The Brow are together.
For what it’s worth, the Pelicans now have one of the most intriguing rosters in the league. Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday should terrorize opposing backcourts with their defense, Brandon Ingram looks the part of a mid-20’s scorer and New Orleans is now armed with the #4 pick in addition to the #1 overall (Zion Williamson) in this year’s draft. Rarely do you ever get enough value for a megastar, but this haul could have them very very fun to watch over the next couple of years.
