Western Conference Finals Predictions
The Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets tip off tonight at 8 pm Central time. I have a difficult time when trying to decide who will end up winning this series. My instant reaction is to pick the Warriors because they are healthy and when they are right, there’s not a team in the league that can hang with them. Right?
The Rockets beat the Warriors twice in three games this past season and secured home-court advantage throughout the playoffs by posting the best record in the NBA. James Harden looks to have erased any doubt about his Most Valuable Player award this year. Chris Paul has advanced to the conference finals for the first time in his career while allowing Houston to unlock their offense, but also spare both superstar guards from overwork.
These teams are two offensive juggernauts, but would this matchup be possible if the Rockets didn’t take a step forward on defense? The Warrior are still the defending champions, so they pose the ultimate test of your additions. Houston did put this team together with the goal of toppling Golden State.
Will there be a new champion from the West? I believe this series will be tightly contested and if I’m correct, the warriors having the deeper team and the experience will prevail.
Warriors in 7.
