With The First Pick In The 2018 NFL Draft... (Day 22)
Day 22 of the Anion Sports 25 Days of Christmas blog. I can’t believe how close we are to Christmas. It seems like just yesterday that I began writing for the first blog post. I guess it’s true what they say. Time flies when you’re having fun.
Speaking of fun, it’s College Football bowl season and already there have been some interesting matchups. I only expect the games to get better and be more competitive going forward. It seems like a mighty fine time to mention that I am currently leading the Anion Sports Capital One Bowl Mania group! I’m sitting pretty with my 96%. Hopefully, I can keep it going and finish on top when it’s all said and done.
I used the Capital One Bowl Mania as a preface for today’s topic. Bowl season means that NFL draft season is around the corner. And this year I am absolutely invested in how the top of the draft goes. As with every year, there exists a need for a QB at the top and typically teams give up a lot to get them. This season, there’s a deeper group than normal. Only one can go #1 overall, however, and today one of them was on display.
That’s Josh Allen, QB for Wyoming. His team was up early and forced a ton of turnovers in their matchup against Central Michigan. It was honestly disappointing because he only threw 19 times. But he showed the flashes of his talent that warrants top selection honors. All three of his TD’s came in the first quarter and a that arm talent was on display.
The 6’5 redshirt junior was somebody I wanted to keep an eye on prior to the season starting. I don’t know how his injury riddled campaign will affect his draft stock, but I’m going to go on record and say it right now. Cleveland, don’t mess this up. I’m all in on Josh Allen as an NFL QB and so should you. I’ll be waiting on his name getting called very early on Day 1 of the Draft.
